What your 8171 result means
When you check your CNIC on 8171, you will see one of three words: Eligible, Not Eligible, or Under Verification. This is not a final decision about you. It just shows where your family stands right now in BISP’s ongoing review.
If your 8171 tracking portal result says Eligible, you just need to wait for your payment window to open. You do not need to apply again or visit any office. If it says Under Verification, BISP is still checking your family details with NADRA. This can take a few weeks. If it says Not Eligible, this is not always the end. Many families ask for a new survey if things change — like a new baby, a divorce, or losing the person who earned money for the house.
For the newest dates and amounts, check the latest payment status update before you visit any HBL Konnect point. Payment dates can be different in different areas. Also keep your CNIC and phone number updated with NADRA. This helps your check show the correct, latest result.

Your CNIC result comes from a score called PMT. This score is based on your NSER survey answers. It is not a person deciding by hand. Here is what makes up that score. If you signed up during the Ehsaas Program Phase 3, these are the same rules used to check your form.
Who usually qualifies
- Your family’s PMT score is below the poverty line set for your area
- A woman is the head of the family, or the main caregiver
- No adult in the family has a government job or government pension
- The family owns no car, at most 1 motorcycle, and very little land
- Widows, divorced women, and families with a disabled member get priority
What can stop you from qualifying
- Someone in the family pays income tax above a set limit
- The family owns more farmland than the limit for your area
- A family member already gets a different government salary or pension
- Your CNIC details do not match NADRA’s record (fix this first)
- The last survey already marked your family as “not poor”
What to bring to collect your payment
- Your real CNIC card (not a photocopy) — it must not be expired
- A mobile number linked to your CNIC, to get the SMS confirmation
- Your fingerprint, to prove it is really you (no PIN needed)
- For Taleemi Wazaif: your child’s B-Form and current school slip
What happens after you check
The check is instant. But if you are eligible, collecting your money has a few simple steps.
Do the CNIC check
You will see one of three results: Eligible, Not Eligible, or Under Verification.
If eligible, note your amount
Rs 14,500 becomes ready to collect once your quarter starts.
Go to a payment point
Take your real CNIC to an HBL Konnect point or a listed ATM.
Fingerprint check
Your fingerprint is matched with NADRA before you get the cash.
If Under Verification
You don’t need to do anything. BISP is checking your family details with NADRA.
If Not Eligible
You can ask for a new survey at your nearest Tehsil BISP office.
Most scams don’t come from BISP
Most complaints BISP gets are not about the program itself. They are about people pretending to be BISP. A few simple facts can stop most scams:
- BISP never charges money — not to register, not to check your status, not to give you your payment.
- Real BISP staff never ask for a photo of your CNIC or your OTP code on WhatsApp.
- You only get paid in person, after a fingerprint check, at a real payment point.
- The only real SMS number is 8171 — never a personal phone number.
